Let $L := U_3(11)$. In this article, we classify groups with the same order and degree pattern as an almost simple group related to $L$. In fact, we prove that $L$, $L:2$ and $L:3$ are OD-characterizable, and $L:S_3$ is $5$-fold OD-characterizable.

Almost simple groups with Socle $G_2(q)$ acting on finite linear spaces

 After the classification of the flag-transitive linear spaces, the attention has been turned to line-transitive linear spaces. In this article, we present a partial classification of the finite linear spaces $mathcal S$ on which an almost simple group $G$ with the socle $G_2(q)$ acts line-transitively.

For any group G, let C(G) denote the set of centralizers of G.We say that a group G has n centralizers (G is a Cn-group) if |C(G)| = n.In this note, we prove that every finite Cn-group with n ≤ 21 is soluble andthis estimate is sharp.
